There once lived a jackal in a barren jungle who hadn’t eaten for days. He decided to go to the city in search of food and ended up in the house of a dyer where he fell into a vat of indigo. He turned completely blue.

When he came out of the vat, the city dwellers got scared of him, he made his way back to the jungle, even the animals were scared of the strange creature.

The Blue jackal, trying to capitalize on their fear tricked the animals into getting him food. He said, “I’m a descendant of God and I’m very powerful. If you don’t want me to kill all of you, you need to bring me food regularly!”

Lo and behold, the Gods rained on his parade the next day. He was drenched and lost his indigo coat. When the animals saw his true colours, they chased him out of the jungle.
